Emperor Meiji (Japanese: 睦仁) was the ruler of the Empire of Japan.

Historical Notes[]
During his lifetime, Meiji was known as "Mutsuhito", the name he took upon reaching adulthood. The era of his rule was known as the Meiji era during his lifetime, but he was the first Japanese Emperor to take on a post-death name for the era in which he ruled. The reference to him as "Emperor Meiji" in Midnight War is therefore likely either an error, or a modern nod of respect to Japanese customs.
